Since our founding, Planting Words has shared hygiene kits, handwritten cards of encouragement and garden supplies with individuals, shelters and community organizations across Maryland. Here is what some of them have shared with us. You can read the original letters and notes in the gallery below.
While the hygiene kits and garden tools are practical resources that meet very real needs, what touched us most were the handwritten notes of encouragement included with the donations. Those personal messages reminded us that community care is about so much more than the resources we provide, it is about making people feel seen, valued, and remembered.
